Gift Technigne :Generally, fertilization takes place about mid-cycle of menstruation. The fertilized egg then moves along with the fallopian tube toward the uterus. The fertilized egg develops to be an embryo and embeds on to the endometrium and grows spontaneously.
IVF-ET :IVF-ET has been practicing in human for about 3 decades. Oocytes and sperm are put together on the Petri-dish in the incubator for fertilization outside human body.
Principally, during ovarian stimulation by FSH (Follicular Stimulating Hormone), the growing follicles are monitoring by blood sampling for hormonal assay and ultrasonography. The mature oocytes will then be retrieved by needle aspiration under anesthesia.
ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) :In case of severe oligospermia, very weak sperm, or a few eggs can be retrieved: all are relevant for direct microinjection of a sperm into the cytoplasm of each egg.
